Reno, NV, September 4, 2008 – KRNV-TV News 4 will be giving viewers the best seat in the house as the 2008 Great Reno Balloon Race takes flight on September 5 through September 7. The station will broadcast the “Hare & Hound: Hunting Balloon-Style� event in HD using four of RF Central’s RFX-CMT-II camera-mounted transmitters and four of its RFX-RMR-II rack mount receivers as more than 100 vibrant hot air balloons take to the Nevada skies. Each set of four will be deployed along with KRNV-TV’s HD field cameras for wirelessly transmitting video and audio back to its central receive point, located at its satellite production van.
David Feher, director of engineering for Sunbelt Communications, parent company of KRNV-TV News 4, explains, “When broadcasting in HD, it is important that we are able to transmit and convey an intact HD signal from remote cameras in order to maintain picture quality.� He adds, “Through RF Central’s CMT-IIs and RMR-IIs, we are able to capture pristine images that really bring the experience home to the viewers.�
The Great Reno Balloon Race is the largest free hot air ballooning event in the nation. Industry Veteran Returns to Company in New Role

PRG Las Vegas fires up DNC-related events with V-DOSC
DENVER, Colorado – September 2008 – The Las Vegas location of Production Resource Group (PRG) reports that it deployed full L-ACOUSTICS loudspeaker systems for two high-profile events staged in Denver during the recent Democratic National Convention.
The first production, Rock The Vote’s “Ballot Bash”, served as a star-studded event showcasing the power of the youth vote in the 2008 U.S. Presidential election. Hamburg, Germany (September 3, 2008) – Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH is pleased to announce the availability of a new update to its Cubase 4 and Cubase Studio 4 Music Production Systems. The 4.5 versions are available now as a download for all US registered Cubase 4 and Cubase Studio 4 customers from www.steinberg.net.
The 4.5 update offers many new integrative technologies, with full support for the upcoming Steinberg MR816 CSX/X Advanced Integration DSP Studios and the CC121 Advanced Integration Controller. “Software and hardware are melded together with a FireWire I/O, a tactile controller and Steinberg’s Cubase Music Production System forming an exciting new system that pushes back the boundaries of what’s possible in digital audio,� says Vogt. Cubase 4.5 also offers enhanced support for the Yamaha MOTIF XS series as well as the KX USB Music Studio series.
