Venezuelan funk-rock band Los Amigos Invisibles performed at the iTunes store in downtown Manhattan as part of the Latin Alternative Music Conference. The Grammy-nominated group is currently touring to promote its new album, Commercial, on David Byrne’s Luaka Bop label. Soviet-American singer/songwriter Regina Spektor also performed. Dubway Studios (NYC) engineers Jason Marcucci and Mike Judeh recorded both performances and mixed them at Dubway. Also at Dubway, international independent label Obliqsound was in with contemporary guitarist, vocalist and songwriter John Shannon. Judeh tracked the session…At Zac Recording (Atlanta), Legendary Poets Publishing has set up a temporary home base in the studio’s B Room, which has also been the lab for other composers like Polow Da Don, Donnie Skants, Willie Will, Hitboy and Chase. Production Solutions Relies On Martin Audio For Fair St. Louis

Deep Purple Rocks Dubai Bike Week With JBL VERTEC® Line Arrays

Regional live event production company SLS Productions recently provided a JBL VERTEC® line array system for the 3-day, fourth annual Dubai Bike Week celebration. The festival, which drew more than 25,000 visitors, motorcycle lovers and Harley-Davidson club members, was capped off with a concert by the iconic hard rock group Deep Purple. Event promoters Live Nation and MECOM contracted SLS Productions to provide the sound, lighting and video systems for the event.

Held in Festival City, Dubai Bike Week featured the latest in motorcycles, ATVs, apparel, accessories, custom-designed bikes and motorcycle-related products from major international brands from Europe, the United States, Canada, Italy and Japan. In addition to Deep Purple, other entertainers included the Scorpion Customs stunt team, DJ GQ and his stunt team of bikers, as well as local bands including Juliana Down, Abri, Lumi, The Meerkats, Paul Akiki and Jonas Desai.
