The USP4 is a Harman HiQnetâ„¢ series component and connects to the audio control/monitor network using 100MB Ethernet hardware. The single plug solution contains audio distribution, control and monitoring.
“We are proud to bring the same next generation OMNIDRIVEHDTM DSP Engine that is featured in our I-Tech HD line to the PIP-USP4. This technology represents what will soon become known as the industry standard and we will continue to implement it for the ultimate in processing for other Crown products, stated Brian Divine, director of marketing for touring and installed sound for Crown.
The USP4’s OMNIDRIVEHD™ processor gives the user ultra smooth processing with 24-bit, 192 kHz Cirrus Logic SHARC A/D and more
Continuing a heritage of sonic integrity and quality that has spanned over two decades, Crown today announced the latest update to its Macro-Tech i series of amplifiers, featuring increased power and new dual port capability. Comprised of three models, the MA-5000i, MA-9000i, and MA-12000i, the Macro-Tech i series features patented Class-I circuitry, which delivers greater power while reducing the amplifier’s weight by more than half.
The new Macro-Tech i series also features dual-port capability. An additional network port now allows a user to daisy chain the network control down the rack of amplifiers instead of having to run a separate cable from a switch to each individual amplifier.
“The professional sound reinforcement community knows what to expect from the Macro-Tech i series. They are getting the best sounding, most reliable analog power amplifier in the world. The best just got better with these updates. The upgraded more
Lexicon®, a Harman International Company (NYSE-HAR), today announced it has released new Windows and Mac software drivers for the I∙ONIX series of Desktop Recording Interfaces. With the new 64-bit Windows driver, these interfaces now operate seamlessly on computers running Windows 64-bit XP and Vista operating systems. The new Mac driver improves performance and now supports all Mac computers operating on OS X 10.4.9 or higher regardless of whether they are based on a PowerPC or Intel processor.

With the advent of new V2.1 software, Studer’s Route 6000 audio distribution system has capabilities way beyond simple routing capability.
In addition to the Studer RELINK I/O sharing system delivered in V2.0, the new release features a host of new signal processes which may be applied to any internal signal, including mixing, downmixing (suited to deriving mono and stereo mixes from surround HD mixes) and upmixing, high and low-pass filters and EQs, dynamics, including brickwall limiters, compressors, expanders and gates. The upmixing process uses proprietary Harman algorithms to develop panning in 5.1 upmixes in ‘width’ mode, or standard 5.1 panning.
All these new functions are incorporated with no loss or compromise of DSP power – all input and output connections are available no matter how signal processes are applied.
New surveillance processes, which are assignable to any internal signal, detect silence and overload detection, capable of triggering more
Studer has announced the availability of the new Studer RELINK (Resource Linking) I/O Sharing system, which can link numerous Studer consoles in various locations of a Broadcast facility to allow audio source and control data sharing across a wide network.
One of the benefits of the Studer RELINK system in comparison to others is that it is based totally on Studer’s existing SCore system which is an integral part of a Studer console architecture, so no additional hardware or breakout boxes are required to complete the network. Any combination of Studer Vista (5, 6, 7, 8), the OnAir 2500 and 3000 consoles, as well as Route 6000 can link with each other via RELINK, communicating over TCP/IP. Other console-based networking systems on the market are often restricted to a single type of console.
RELINK is seamless, scaleable, flexible, and can start with a simple link between more
Studer has introduced a new modular version of the successful OnAir 2500 Broadcast console for installation in custom studio furniture. The new model, named the OnAir 2500 Modulo, has separate modules for fader bays and master section, along with a rack-mountable mainframe which houses the power supply and host processing. These modules can be recessed into a desktop for a clean installation with all cables integrated within the furniture and the mainframe hidden appropriately.
The OnAir 2500 Modulo was introduced after demand from the market for a recessable console. In Switzerland, a custom version of the OnAir 2500 console was built into a stunning desk at Radio 105 / Radio Monte Carlo, which changes colour when it is on-air, mics are live or off-air.
The OnAir 2500 digital all-in-one Broadcast console utilises well-established software technology derived from the highly acclaimed OnAir 3000 console to deliver a new standard more
Studer is supplying two flagship Vista consoles to Peel Media for two large radio studios under construction in the new MediaCityUK complex at Salford Quays in Manchester.<777>
One of the Studer Vista consoles will be used in the recording hall for the world renowned BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and strengthens the use of Studer consoles for recording and broadcast of classical music with similar consoles used at Maida Vale, London, Glasgow City Halls and Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff.<777>
A second console will be installed in the Multi Purpose Audio Suite (MPAS), which will be used for radio drama, pop music recording and other radio productions requiring a large studio.<777>
At IBC 2009, Soundcraft is featuring more option interface cards for its Vi Series Digital Live Sound consoles, expanding the applications of the highly popular digital mixer into broadcast, and adding easy capabilities for direct recording from the desk.
Using the ADAT card, it is possible to connect two ports of eight channels (inputs and outputs) to an ADAT-equipped hard disk or software-based recorder, so two cards would enable 32 channels of audio to be recorded and played back almost instantaneously.
The SDI and Dolby® E cards will be welcomed by broadcasters, as it means the desk can handle the de-embedding of audio channels from within SDI video streams (and re-embedding for onward transmission), and the decoding of up to 8 channels of audio from a Dolby Digital or Dolby E stream. All individual audio channels are then available within the Vi Series’ digital patchbay for more
