NATICK, MA, November 16, 2009 — Genelec Inc., the pioneer in Active Monitoring technology for three decades, is also a leader in high-quality, discreet, low-profile in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeaker design. This was illustrated by a recent installation for an upscale residential media room in the Los Angeles area that used three Genelec AIW25 Active In-Wall Loudspeakers as the LCR array, a pair of AIC25 Active In-Ceiling Loudspeakers as the surround channels and a 5041A Active In-Wall Subwoofer to complete a surround sound system that exceeds the standards of even a system using external components.

WAVES RELEASES VOCAL RIDER, A REVOLUTIONARY PLUG-IN FOR MIXING

— Waves Vocal Rider intelligently raises or lowers vocal volume without coloring or compression —

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL, November 16, 2009 — Waves Audio is now shipping Vocal Rider, the first of Waves’ pioneering series of innovative new Mixing tools. Vocal Rider is indispensable for mixers and recording engineers, automatically riding the levels of vocal tracks. Instead of manually riding a console fader, or tediously drawing in every level change on a DAW track, Vocal Rider does it automatically, making it a true timesaver.

First, the user sets the target range of the vocal level in relation to the rest of the mix. Vocal Rider then compensates for all deviations from the target, intelligently raising or lowering the vocal volume, instantly. Unlike compression, Vocal Rider adds absolutely no additional coloring more

ULTRAVIOLET SOUND COVERS THE RECORDING SPECTRUM AT ODDS ON RECORDS & STUDIOS

LAS VEGAS, NV, NOVEMBER 17, 2009 – When pop/electro band Ultraviolet Sound, also known as UVS, was named the 2007 winner of Amplify, Las Vegas’ battle of the bands, one of the prizes for the first-place win was studio time at nearby Odds On Records & Studios.  After just one session at the studio, the band was sold and consistently returned to the studio each time it was in town.  In fact, when Odds On Records & Studios announced the launch of its independent recording label, Ultraviolet Sound was one of the first groups to sign on.ultraviolet-sound.jpg
“Odds On has a ton of amazing gear, says Sami D (keyboards and synths for UVS).  “The studio has everything from vintage mics and mic pre’s to outboard gear. In my opinion, that’s their number one benefit ― that it has any piece of gear you would want to more

Germano Studios Purchase Two TELEFUNKEN CineMics

Re-Interpretation of the classic Stanley Church/MGM Design

CineMic

Pictured at Germano Studios in NYC with a matched pair of TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik CineMics is producer/engineer Ed Tuton.

Troy Germano, owner of Germano Studios in NYC, has purchased two TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik large diaphragm tube CineMics. The matched pair are an interpretive recreation of the rare Stanley Church/MGM design, bringing the total number of TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik microphones to eight in the studios’ extensive collection.

“I was looking for a great matched pair of U47-style mics and there were less than 200 of this rare CineMike produced, so very few engineers have even experienced them,” explained Germano. “I’ve had such good luck with my other re-issues from TELEFUNKEN that I thought this pair, Serial #001 and #002, would really round out our collection. They’ve already created quite a sensation among our clients.”
