BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts is one of the most widely recognized and respected institutions of higher education for students seeking careers in the music industry. Founded in 1945 at a time when all other conservatories shunned contemporary music, Berklee gave its students a distinctly relevant education by teaching jazz, folk, and other modern genres that captivated the public imagination. With alumni earning more than 175 Grammy Awards, Berklee continues that tradition of relevance today by offering degrees with unparalleled depth and breadth across the many facets that make the music industry hum. In a move inspired both by pedagogy and recognition of the enduring role of high-end analog equipment in the recording industry, the Music Production and Engineering Department recently announced that it will replace three of its existing consoles with three 32-channel API Legacy Plus consoles. more

LA GRANGE, GEORGIA: It had only been five years since Troup County Comprehensive High School added a 900-seat fine arts auditorium to their campus in LaGrange, Georgia, but already they were pining for a new sound system. Troup is well-known throughout the region for its theater department, which produces three performances a year at a level of professionalism that is commensurate with college productions. Although the auditorium’s architects did a beautiful job of constructing a thoroughly modern facility, with excellent site lines, acoustics, and amenities, the auditorium’s original sound contractors were not so successful. And thus the otherwise fabulous auditorium limped along from day one. more

BREA, CALIFORNIA – DECEMBER 2009: The Cause Community Church in Brea, California was born of nearby Faith Community Church in West Covina, a mega-church. It was “planted” in 2005, and every week until recently, The Cause’s dedicated volunteers unloaded two trailers-worth of equipment to set up children’s ministries, a youth room, a main service room, and an overflow room in a supportive Brea movie theater complex. Although the volunteers cheerfully performed that Herculean task week-after-week and the congregation attended enthusiastically, everyone pined for the day when they would have a space to call their own. The new space would be a beacon to them and to future members of the congregation. more
