Legendary guitar hero Steve Vai is working on new material in Ocean Way’s resort studio on the island of St. Barths in the Caribbean. Engineer and owner of the Ocean Way studio facilities Allen Sides is recording tracks for Vai’s forthcoming symphonic album project. more
BUENA PARK, Calif.â€”Taylors First Baptist Church in Taylors, South Carolina was chartered and established in 1864. The â€˜u-shapedâ€™ sanctuary seats approximately 2,100, and with two services on Sunday mornings, the church serves a congregation of 3,000. Recently, Palmetto Sound Works of Spartanburg, S.C. was contracted to perform an upgrade to their existing audio system originally installed in 1995. About four years ago, the audio contractor performed a partial upgrade that included a Yamaha M7CL-48 digital audio console. This year, the complete upgrade includes a second M7CL-48 along with Yamaha Installation Series IF Speakers, PC amps, and a DME-64n processor. more

SSE Audio Group’s L-ACOUSTICS K1 system flown at Wembley Arena for BBC Radio 1Xtra Live
REDDITCH, England — UK rental company SSE Audio Group deployed its L-ACOUSTICS K1 large-format line source system on BBC Radio 1Xtra Live at Wembley Arena in late September, rounding off a summer of outings for the system.
A total of 72 K1 boxes, along with 30 dV-DOSC, 20 large-format KUDO and 18 ultra-compact KIVA line source cabinets, plus 48 SB28 subs, were deployed for the event. The system was driven by 24 flown LA-RAK housing 72 LA8 amplified controllers, connected by LA Network Manager. more
