Prague, Czech Republic – October 2010… With a theatrical release rumored for February 2011, noted film director David Cronenberg’s latest offering, A Dangerous Method, starring Viggo Mortensen (as Sigmund Freud), Michael Fassbender (as Carl Jung), and Keira Knightley ( as Sabina Spielrein), recently completed filming. Shot in Vienna, Austria, Cologne, Germany, the Bodensee District north of Lake Constance, and Lake Constance (which straddles Germany, Switzerland, and Austria near the Alps), the film takes place at the brink of World War I and is based on the turbulent relationships between fledgling psychiatrist Carl Jung, his mentor Sigmund Freud, and Sabina Spielrein, the troubled but beautiful young woman who comes between them. Coinciding with the studios’ move from Greene Street in Soho to Midtown Manhattan earlier this year, the new identity also marks the company’s expansion to a staff of 5 full-time audio mixers and sound engineers and a full slate of audio work for radio advertisements, television, and digital projects as well. more

“Ear Theatre, Volume 1,” an instrumental anthology from the Great American Songbook, has been mastered at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood, CA. Produced by Sunny Levine, the debut album includes “When You Wish Upon a Star,” “Stardust, and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” among other classics.

BUENA PARK—The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark, New Jersey has added a Yamaha PM5D-EX system to their existing stable of Yamaha consoles. The new system, which was purchased through Masque Sound (East Rutherford, NJ), joins two Yamaha M7CL, two DM1000′s, and O1V. One M7CL console is permanently installed in the Victoria Theater that seats over 500 at the NJPAC complex. Miami, FL—Asked about the biggest challenge for a concert and live recording-streaming of a Big Boi at the popular SOBE club in South Beach, Harold Cummings, owner of Drummer Boy Productions and system tech for the show was very clear.

“My biggest problem was stage size, recounts Cummings. “First, it was a sold out show and the club was packed to the limit. They didn’t want to give up any more space for staging. The club’s own stages but were too small for all of the instruments, performers and monitors, so we had to come up with a custom stage and get the sound live. more
