On-going launch events have featured a jam session led by percussion royalty Giovanni Hidalgo, as well as appearances by Grammy winner and world music icon Youssou Nâ€™Dour and his protege Aurelio Martinez. Current sessions include visiting UK production whiz Deewaan (Lady Gaga “The Remix Album”) who just finished producing an album by up-and-comer reggae/pop artist Nando, celebrity voice-overs, and currently, pioneer engineer Carlos â€œC12â€? Widely regarded as the worldâ€™s first studio monitor, the Lansing Iconic was inducted into the TEC Hall of Fame in ceremonies held at the 2011 NAMM show in Anaheim, January 15th. The Iconic was developed specifically to meet the needs of film and audio production control rooms, and was introduced in 1937 by James B. Lansing, the founder of JBL. Its 2-way configuration of a 15-inch woofer and compression driver/horn high-frequency section established the standard for studio monitor systems, still in use today.

Full Sail University announced today that eight of its alumni are nominated for this yearâ€™s GRAMMYÂ® Awards airing live on CBS Sunday, February 13, 2011. A total of 74 Full Sail University graduates worked on 53 nominated projects, dominating categories such as Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Engineered Album-Classical, to name a few.
