BUENA PARK, Calif.â€”Yamaha Stagemix software for the M7CL iPad app was recently installed into Chicago concert venue Viper Alley. Located in Lincolnshire, Illinois, the venue is the brainchild of Scott Greenberg, creator of the Wit, Chicago’s hippest boutique hotel. Viper Alley opened in early March with American Idol winner Lee DeWyze performing for two hundred online raffle ticket winners. The club also features a complete NEXO sound system. The installation was completed by Gand Sound Installations (Glenview, Illinois).
StageMix is an application for the Apple iPad that allows remote control of the Yamaha M7CL digital consoleâ€™s mix functions via a simple, intuitive graphic interface from anywhere within wireless range. Keith Prestidge joined HARMANâ€™s Studer team this week as Sales Director, Asia Pacific reporting to Adrian Curtis and with a brief to grow the expanding region in Broadcast and Performance installations for Studer audio mixing systems.
Keith, previously General Manager at Klotz Digital Asia, has resided in the territory for 15 years. He started his professional life as a hands-on radio broadcast engineer and has spent 20 years in the industry, which has included periods in Project Engineering and Sales.

STOW, OH, March 16, 2011 â€” Audio-Technica U.S. extends its deepest condolences to those affected by the 2011 Tohoku Pacific Coast earthquake. Audio-Technica Japan facilities have not been damaged by the disaster, and all employees are accounted for and safe. Operations at Audio-Technica Japan are normal, although minimally affected by power outages, as office workers with long commutes are working from home when possible via cell phone and computer. The company is constantly monitoring the status of operations at all sites, with safety being the number-one priority.
Audio-Technica U.S. is assessing the effect this disaster may have on its supply chain, but at this time no major disruptions are anticipated.
To help in the relief and recovery efforts for communities affected by the Tohoku Earthquake, Audio-Technica U.S. is making a donation to the Japanese Red Cross Society.

STOW, OH, March 15, 2011 â€” Audio-Technica is now shipping its AT2022 X/Y Stereo Condenser Microphone. A dual-element condenser microphone designed for stereo recording, the AT2022 features two unidirectional condenser capsules in an X/Y configuration pivot to allow for 90-degree (narrow) or 120-degree (wide) stereo operation for extremely versatile pickup. The capsules also fold flat for storage and transportation. It is designed for general stereo recording, as well as field sound capture.
The AT2022 includes a 1.6′ (0.5 m) cable terminating in a 3-pin XLRF-type and a 1/8″ (3.5 mm) connector. The output of the microphone is a 3-pin XLRM-type connector. The microphone requires a 1.5V AA battery for operation.
