Banjoist Noam Pikelny invited comedian/banjoist Steve Martin to make a guest appearance on his second solo album, recording at Ocean Way in Hollywood. Pikelny, a member of the Bluegrass band Punch Brothers, was the recipient of the 2010 Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass.

Decatur, GA––When Messenger Media Systems of Covington, Georgia was called in to do the audio for the New Life Church, the primary challenge was providing a powerful system for a spacious sanctuary on a limited budget.
As Senior Systems Engineer Christopher Bragg, puts it, “The client had purchased an old high school which they used for administrative offices and built a large sanctuary behind it.
“It was a 2,000-seat church and they only had $100,000 for the audio system because they’d spent a lot of money up front for conduits and other infrastructure they didn’t end up using.
“Acoustically, the room is difficult. Lots of straight walls, hard surfaces and we didn’t have the budget for acoustic treatment at that point. That was the main difficulty, working on a small budget for a room that size.�

Wenham, Mass.—The A.J. Gordon Memorial Chapel at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts is among one of the top Christian colleges and the only non-denominational college in New England. The chapel seats 1,600, making it one of the largest venues on Boston’s North Shore. Recently, MFI Productions of Hooksett, New Hampshire, installed a 21st century audio system based around a new, white NEXO GEO S12 line array.
“The Chapel on campus is the largest performance venue on campus, bringing international speakers, scholars, musicians and events to its stage annually,� states Chris Imming, director of media services. NEW YORK: The recently completed DiMenna Center for Classical Music provides an exemplary home for Orchestra of St. Luke’s. Constructed over the past year on the first three floors of a six story West 37th building shared with the celebrated Baryshnikov Arts Center, the new complex is designed to serve a multiplicity of music rehearsal, recording, broadcast, teleconferencing, educational and streaming purposes.

AUSTIN, TEXAS – APRIL 2011: Established in 1998, The Bubble recording studio has recently joined the ranks of API 1608 owners across the world. Their new 16-channel 1608 analog console is in good company. The Texas studio already owned an array of API equipment, including a 3124+, four 550b discrete 4-band EQs and two 560 graphic EQs.
“We have been using API gear for a long time,” said Alex Lyon, co-owner and co-engineer of The Bubble, “so we knew the sound and build quality were things we liked. We had never heard or seen a 1608, but just knowing it was an API was enough to sell us.”
