Sennheiser Helps Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles Realize its Mission of Empowering Girls through Music Education

Old Lyme, Conn. – August 22, 2011 – This summer, the Rock n’ Roll Camp for Girls Los Angeles nearly doubled its enrollment in its second year, with 62 registered campers. The Camp, which is part of the international Girls Rock Camp Alliance and supported in part by audio specialist Sennheiser, encourages creative expression and confidence building among campers, who are between the ages of eight and 17. The Los Angeles branch of the camp was founded by Mona Tavakoli and Becky Gebhardt of Raining Jane, a Los Angeles-based band that has worked with Jason Mraz and is currently on tour with Sara Bareilles.

For one week during each summer, campers are invited to participate in personalized lessons, workshops and band rehearsals with the goal of writing and performing an original song before the entire group on the last day of more

NEW YORK: “The goal of the AES Convention Historical Program is to revisit the accomplishments of pro audio past masters within a context which makes them relevant to next-generation audio practitioners,” states 131st AES Convention Chair Jim Anderson. “This year, longtime Historical Events Chair Harry Hirsch has nurtured four events which fully serve that objective.” Scheduled for Oct. 20 thru 23 in NY’s Jacob Javits Convention Center, this year’s convention is expected to attract over 20,000 attendees from around the world.

QUEBEC CITY — Despite its modest beginnings in 1968, the annual Quebec City Summer Festival (Festival d’ete de Quebec) is now recognized as Canada’s largest outdoor performance event. Attracting more than 1.5 million people over its 11-day span each July, this year’s production involved nearly 300 musical performances spread out across three outdoor stages and seven indoor halls.

The primary performance venue for the festival is the Bell Stage, which, from July 7 through 17, hosted everyone from Ben Harper, Elton John and John Fogerty to Simple Plan, Avenged Sevenfold and Metallica, among many others. more
