LIVONIA, MICHIGAN – AUGUST 2011: Schoolcraft College, is a public community college that enrolls 36,000 students per year offering both certificate and associate degree programs in Livonia, Garden City, and online. In cooperation with nearby Botsford Hospital and Garden City Hospital, Schoolcraft recently completed construction on a state-of-the-art Health Professions Simulation Lab (HPSL) in its Biomedical Technology Center. The HPSL features a birthing room, a procedure room, and two patient rooms. Using sophisticated medical mannequins and hospital-grade equipment, all four rooms are flexible enough to present common and rare situations to which health care professionals must be trained to respond appropriately. A comprehensive monitoring system using Symetrix’ SymNet digital audio processing and B-Line Medical SimCapture recording technologies allows students, with the help of their instructors, to review and improve their performances.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – AUGUST 2011: “I work too many hours,” laughed Ariel Borujow, chief recording and mix engineer at New York City’s now-famous Stadium Red studios. With fifteen years spent in front of the monitors, Borujow has worked with Kanye West, The Black Eyed Peas, Faith Evans, J-Lo, and countless others. Nevertheless, Borujow is hardly content to rest on his laurels. Although he does sometimes take a day off, putting in a six-day week instead of his usual seven, on the days he does work, it’s never less than ten hours. And if there’s ever a dip in the frenzy at Stadium Red, Borujow puts in time at his moonlighting gig, delivering mixes for Fox broadcasting. With deadlines looming and a more

For A1 mixer / sound designer, Gary Vahling, putting the plug on this obstacle and other technical issues were resolved by using Lectrosonics’ wireless technology. more
