New York, October 17, 2011 — Jim Anderson is an overachiever. As a professor at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and a Chairman of the 131st Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention, Anderson remains extremely active in the recording community in his academic and professional capacities, as well as in his role as a freelance recording engineer/producer. He just finished recording projects for jazz musician James Carter and GRAMMY® Award-winning Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and most recently was involved with a massive oral history project for the AES which documents many significant technical milestones the audio industry has achieved over the last several decades.

Earthworks Debuts Wireless Capsule at AES

Milford, NH, October 17, 2011 – Earthworks Microphones will debut its first ever wireless product, the WL40V Wireless Vocal Microphone Capsule, at AES this year.

The WL40V, as well as microphones from the rest of Earthworks lineup, will be at the 131st AES Convention in New York City, October 21-23, Booth #645.

The WL40V has been adapted in wireless capsule form from the SR40V Vocal Microphone released earlier this year. Designed to maintain the same signature sound as its wired counterpart, the WL40V delivers a detailed and realistic vocal sound that requires little to no EQ. Its textbook perfect hypercardioid polar pattern and extended flat frequency response translate to a natural on- and off-axis performance coupled with benchmark levels of clarity and detail.

Sound Works Productions Supports ALS Walk

CHICAGO—Now in its ninth year, the Les Turner Foundation ALS Walk 4 Life recently took place at Montrose Harbor in Chicago, and turned to Sound Works Productions (Frankfort, Illinois) for their audio production needs. The Walk4Life is one of the world’s largest ALS gatherings, and this year more than 5,000 walkers gathered to add to the already $6 million in pledges received since the Foundation began.
