Audio Facility Ravenswork Sets Up Shop at Video Editorial House Lost Planet with Genelec Active Monitoring System

NATICK, MA, February 29, 2012 — Commercial media advertising has been a tough business for the last decade but many lucky talents have found ways to stay on top. When Robert Feist, owner of the three-room Ravenswork commercial audio facility in Venice, California, felt the economy’s pinch in recent years, he created synergy by moving his studio and its high-end commercial work into the space of a long-time collaborator, video editorial facility Lost Planet, in Santa Monica. Together, the two companies have increased their work at the high end of commercial media with top-level talent and technology. Part of that has been the inclusion, from the moment the new audio studio opened at Lost Planet last June, of a Genelec 5.1 surround monitoring system, consisting of three Genelec 8250A Bi-Amplified DSP Monitors for the L-C-R array, a pair of Genelec 8240A Bi-Amplified DSP Monitors for the left and right rear surrounds, and a Genelec 7270A Active DSP Subwoofer.

Feist says that the Genelec surround monitoring system was put to the test immediately upon the opening of the room with the first commercial worked on there, promoting GRAMMY Award®-winning vocalist Beyoncé’s exclusive distribution arrangement with retailer Target. “The commercial had very critical audio requirements – the monitoring had to be perfect, consistent and accurate, and that’s just what the Genelecs gave me,” says Feist, who also uses a pair of Genelec 1029A speakers as desktop monitors.

Since then, Feist and the Genelec speakers have applied their talents to other commercial projects for clients including Nike, Mazda, Google and Absolut Vodka, including Absolut’s award-winning “Absolut Blank” campaign that features over two dozen artists.

Pro audio veteran Davis has worked with EAW® in different capacities for 25 years

Sennheiser and Paste Magazine to Present 33 Bands in Three Days for Ultimate Music Lovers’ Showcase at Stages on Sixth in Austin

Uncompromising Classical Audiophile Label 2L Relies on Antelope Audio’s Zodiac Gold DAC to “Proof Listen” its High Resolution Masters

Oslo, Norway, February 28, 2012 — Morten Lindberg is well-known in the audiophile community as head of 2L (Lindberg Lyd), a recording label based in Oslo, Norway that has been exporting its premium classical and folk recordings from Scandinavia for over a decade. Platinum rockers Shinedown have wrapped up recording of their fourth studio album at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood. Titled “Amaryllis”, the album is set for a release on March 27th. Producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls) helmed the project, following his success with the band’s RIAA-platinum certified 2008 release, “The Sound of Madness.”

Longtime Cavallo engineer Doug McKean recorded the band’s much anticipated new material. On hand were Barry Kerch, drums; Wes Seidman, assistant engineer; RJ Ronquillo, guitar tech; Eric Bass, bass; Zach Myers, guitars, vocals; Mike Fasano,drum tech; Doug McKean, engineer; Brent Smith, lead vocals; Rob Cavallo, producer.

Formed in 2001, Shinedown’s first two albums were the RIAA-platinum certified “Leave a Whisper” (2003), and RIAA-gold certified “Us and Them” (2005). The two albums yielded an amazing seven consecutive Top 5 hits at Rock radio.

“The Sound of Madness” was a top 10 debut on the Billboard 200 and remained on the chart for an astonishing 120 consecutive weeks. All six singles from the album went to #1 at Rock radio, including the 2x-platinum single “Second Chance,” which also went to #1 on the Hot AC chart and top 5 at Pop.

Founder/vocalist Brent Smith commented on the band’s upcoming album, “We pride ourselves on being a band that each record sounds completely different than the last. RTW TM7 To Be Integrated Into HARMAN’S Studer Vista Range of Digital Consoles

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, 28 FEBRUARY 2012 – RTW, a leading manufacturer and distributor of professional audio metering and control devices for studio recording and radio and TV broadcast applications, and HARMAN’s Studer, manufacturer of digital mixing consoles for the broadcast, production and live application markets, are jointly announcing at this year’s CABSAT show that the RTW TM7 TouchMonitor will be fully integrated in the Studer Vista range of digital audio consoles.

As a result of this partnership, RTW will provide a special version of the TM7 TouchMonitor touchscreen loudness meter that will be built into the meter bridge of the Vista 9 and Vista 5 M2 consoles.
