Miami, FL – November 2009… Running sound for the touring concert crowd is a tough business—set up early, mix the show, tear everything down, move to the next location, and repeat it all over again according to the tour itinerary. When you consider this routine frequently also involves lighting equipment, backline (instruments), and possibly even staging, you begin to appreciate why roadies don’t know where they are half the time! One thing the road crew doesn’t need is a temperamental sound reinforcement system. That’s why Waverly, OH-based JSL Productions, who recently provided live sound reinforcement for the Christian rock band Fireflight, used their Aero Series 2 sound system from D.A.S. Audio.
JSL Productions, a full service audio and lighting production company that handles concerts, special events, equipment sales and rentals, as well as running an installation division, provided more
Albuquerque, NM – November 2009… Land-based artworks are usually installed on the land, but rarely in it. Such was the case, however, on October 3rd, when Yei Ehekatl, a Baltic/Nahuatl tribal artist who makes environmental art using digital photography, video, living grasses, and charred wood was buried 4 feet into the ground as part of a project that explores the physical, spiritual, and cultural meanings of burial. For almost two hours, the amplified sounds of the artist’s heartbeat and breathing were heard in real time throughout the gallery where the performance occurred—thanks to wireless technology from Lectrosonics.
Part of the artist’s ongoing project, Ollin Burial, the performance occurred at THE LAND/gallery, which in conjunction with THE LAND/an art site in nearby Mountainair, NM, are devoted exclusively to site-specific, environmentally low-impact, land-based art. Yei Ehekatl, who is also known as more

Los Angeles, CA – November 2009… Location sound work always presents unique challenges, but for the crew tasked with capturing the sights and sounds of many of our planet’s most beautiful—and remote—fishing destinations, the job becomes even more demanding. Such is the case for George Clark, Executive Producer of HOOKED on the Fly, a new sport fishing program that will air on the Sportsman Channel come December 29th. The show’s production crew routinely encounters extreme weather conditions that pose serious threats to their electronic equipment, but when it comes to capturing audio, their wireless microphone systems from Lectrosonics deliver in a big way.
Clark, who initially started his career as a Ph.D. biological scientist and went on to work at many of the world’s most revered research institutes such as the Smithsonian Institution, received his MFA in film from more

As a result, erecting a sound system capable of providing consistent coverage with solid SPL performance to the roughly 5,000 music enthusiasts in attendance was no small undertaking. Ultimately, the challenges of the job were resolved with a sound system featuring Aero Series 2 line arrays from D.A.S. Audio.
