Rat Sound installs KUDO loudspeaker system in newly renovated Fox Theater Pomona
POMONA, California – October 2009 — Following a ten-year dark streak and $10 million, two-year restoration project, the greater Los Angeles area has witnessed the rebirth of another iconic entertainment venue, the Fox Theater Pomona. First opened in 1931 as an art deco movie palace from Hollywood’s golden age, the 2,000-capacity auditorium once again came to life on May 21st with a rollicking concert by Gogol Bordello, who properly inaugurated the room’s new L-ACOUSTICS KUDO rig. more
LOS ANGELES – October 2009 — Over the past two decades, Rob Schnapf has consistently proved to be one of the most astute producers of emerging indie talent. Having worked with the likes of Elliott Smith, Beck, Foo Fighters, Guided By Voices, The Vines and Saves The Day, Schnapf more often than not has his finger on the pulse for what will soon be on the playlists of the hipster elite.
It shouldn’t be any surprise that this same knack for picking winners carries over to his savvy equipment choices for his Silverlake studio, known simply as Mant, the centerpiece of which is a vintage Electrodyne console previously owned by Frank Sinatra, Jr. Two of Schnapf’s most recent prized purchases include a Brad Avenson-designed BAC-500 compressor from Pete’s Place Audio and an EM-PEQ from sibling company A-Designs Audio, both being 500 more

Numerous V-DOSC/dV-DOSC systems flown at huge festival staged in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park
SAN FRANCISCO – October 2009 — Sprawled out across the space of 20 city blocks inside San Francisco’s verdant Golden Gate Park, the second annual Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival recently dazzled thousands of concertgoers with nearly 100 bands and DJs over its three-day run.
Given the size and complexity of the event, Outside Lands’ co-promoters — Bonnaroo presenter Superfly and Berkeley’s Another Planet Entertainment — once again turned to Hayward, California-based Sound On Stage (SOS) to provide sound reinforcement for all but one of the festival’s stages. SOS, in turn, chose to rely on L-ACOUSTICS loudspeakers for four of those venues.

HOLLAND, Michigan – September 2009 — What is a church to do when the economy spirals into recession halfway through raising funds for a much-needed new PA system? In the case of Holland, Michigan-based Christ Memorial Church (CMC), the answer was to install a cost-effective coaxial solution from L-ACOUSTICS.
Early last year, CMC initially commissioned Parkway Electric and Communications to design a discrete loudspeaker setup to provide sound reinforcement for its 180-voice choir and orchestra, both of which perform from the far left side of the sanctuary. After evaluating at a number of systems, Parkway specified a compact LA4-powered system comprised of four KIVA elements arrayed beneath a KILO low-frequency extension cabinet, with two additional KIVA down-firing behind the array to provide monitoring for the choir. more
