LA’s much loved party band Ozomatli have finalized 12 songs for a CD collection culled from their score for “Happy Feet Two: The Videogame” at Marsh Mastering. The project is especially fitting as the band often performs bilingual children’s concerts as Ozo for Kidz._
“We worked on 25 songs for the videogame,” explained recording engineer/producer Robert Carranza, widely know for his work on Jack Johnson’s albums, including the music for the animated feature “Curious George.” “The songs for the game were so well-received by Warner Brothers that they asked us to put together a CD to come out at the same time as the film’s release.”
On hand at Marsh Mastering were Ozomatli’s Wil-Dog Abers, bass, vocals; Asdrubal Sierra, trumpet, lead vocals; Justin Poree, percussion, MC, vocals; Robert Carranza, recording engineer; Raul Pacheco Guitar, Lead Vocals; Jiro Yamaguchi, percussion; and Stephen Marsh, mastering engineer.
“My first impression of working with Stephen Marsh is that he takes a different approach to mastering,” Carranza continued. “He didn’t try to put his fingerprint on the music — he enhanced what was there with a lot of respect for the material. As a result, it’s a piece of work that really stands up. The band was really happy with the feat!”
Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ “Happy Feet Two,” the sequel to the Oscar-winning hit, opens nationwide on November 18, 2011. The film is directed by George Miller and features the voices of Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Hank Azaria, Alecia Moore (P!nk), Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Sofia Vergara, Common, Hugo Weaving, Richard Carter, Magda Szubanski, Anthony LaPaglia and Benjamin “Lil P-Nut” Flores, Jr.
“Happy Feet Two – The Videogame” is a musical adventure game for the entire family inspired by the whimsical Antarctic world of the upcoming animated film “Happy Feet Two.” In the game, new dangers are threatening the penguin nation, and it’s going to take everyone working – and dancing – together to save them from extinction. Players use dance moves to recruit penguins with unique abilities that help advance the adventure, stun opponents and enemies, as well as manipulate the environment around them to solve co-operative puzzles.
“Happy Feet Two: The Videogame” was developed by KMM Games for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. WayForward Technologies developed the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS versions.
“Happy Feet Two: The Videogame” soundtrack CD will be released November 8 by WaterTower Music.

 Brainstorm SR-112 Time Code Distripalyzer
Brainstorm SR-112
Brainstorm’s new SR-112 Time Code Distripalyzer, replaces the industry standard SR-15+. It is a time code reader, distributor, reshaper, analyzer and generator all in a 1U rack mount device. The analyzer indicates format, frame rate, errors and video phase and outputs a comprehensive report; the 1×12 distributor reshapes the signal; the optional generator repairs drop-outs and generates new code. All SMPTE and EBU SD/HD rates are supported. Ethernet is included for reporting and to set parameters and update firmware.
 Brainstorm DCD-12
Brainstorm DCD-12
The new single domain DCD-12 Word Clock Distributor/Generator is an excellent companion for the popular DCD-8 an dincludes the same exceptional jitter rejection. The DCD-12 can run as a master generator on internal crystal or locked to an external reference such as WC, Video Sync (HD & SD), AES31, S/PDIF, 10 MHz (GPS or Rubidium clock). The rate of the reference (input) is “learned” by the DCD-12 automatically while the output rate can be identical or set independently. Ethernet is included to monitor and set parameters and update firmware.
