Monster Turbine is a new high-end personal listening product featuring a low mass, wide bandwidth driver, all-metal housing for isolation, a variety of eartips for comfort and fit and MicroStrand cable promising extended frequency response.

At the last Winter NAMM show, head monster Noel Lee had me try out the Beats headphones created in collaboration between Monster and Dr. Dre. I don’t put a lot of stock into trade show floor demos but these sounded excellent, even amidst the sometimes deafening NAMM din. The point is that Monster knows how to make a great headphone and I’m anxious to hear what these buds offer. At $149.95, they are pricey but not out of line with other high-end in ears.
